"I have always wanted a black German Shepherd...it was my heart's desire! I was looking on Facebook and came across Vigilant Shepherds. When I reached out to Rebecca I was not expecting a very quick response. She responded very quickly and was amazing! We talked for a few days and then I decided I wanted one of her pups! She is an amazing breeder who cares for her dogs! She met me 1/2 way on the day of pickup and even had Nyah (formerly Hail) a sweet take home bag full of goodies!!!! Rebecca checks on the pups once they are in their new homes and answers any questions you may have. She is always so very helpful! Her pups are in great health and temperament when you take them home. She will send you videos before you pick up your baby so you can see them grow! "Rebecca and John are awesome people and such caring and ethical breeders. When I went to visit them and look at their puppies I was welcomed with open arms. I loved that they introduced me to all of her dogs. Rebecca and John really care about each of their dogs as well as each puppy. After picking up Piper the end of October Rebecca has checked on her to make sure she adjusted well and was happy and that we were still a good fit. I recommended Rebecca to my brother in Washington state who purchased another female for his daughter. It is so nice to know that there is a GSD breeder that is responsible and cares about their dogs. It’s awesome to see her adult dogs as well. Their dogs are so respectful and beautiful. "This past December, I was the lucky recipient of the best birthday present ever: Storm, the cutest most delightful 15-week-old German Shepherd puppy! She’s now 5-months old, gorgeous and healthy, with lots of energy, but also the sweetest temperament. I’m sure that much of that is due to the loving environment in which she was born and spent her early days. For that alone, I would wholeheartedly endorse Rebecca and John to anyone looking to share their lives with an outstanding dog. However, Rebecca was also extremely helpful and supportive in my dearest wife’s secret arrangements to bring Storm from Tennessee to us in New Hampshire. We have stayed in touch with her since, and often share photos and updates. These are good people, and excellent breeders. Rebecca and John are amazing people. They were very informative and willing to do whatever they could to help me through the process. I had my girl Maya for a year one now and Rebecca has always been available to answer any questions or help out with any situation. They definitely take the care of their dogs seriously and provided me with an abundant amount of information about my puppy. Maya has great temperament. She has been easy to train and listens very well. She's not destructive and doesn't bark excessively. She gets a ton of compliments all the time. I have even recommended Rebecca and John to a few people. Definitely would purchase another puppy from them."Would recommend: Yes

Rebecca and John are awesome. My wife and I got our first ever German shepherd from them and we have not been disappointed in any way. When we reached out to them and asked them about their puppies, they gave us all kinds of helpful info and set up a FaceTime with us to figure out which puppy would best the best fit for us. We were also given all kinds of great advice and informative books on the breed. We can definitely say that they are very thorough and caring breeders because they message us frequently asking how our dog is doing, and if we have any questions they are always available and happy to help. Our boy Zeke is about to be 6 months old now and he is extremely well tempered and the best companion we could have asked for. He is so smart and has learned several commands with ease, and he also has not been destructive at all (as most puppies are).  The only regret I have is that we didn’t get two puppies! If anyone is looking for a German shepherd I would highly recommend contacting them!Would recommend Yes

You will not find a better GSD breeder than Vigilant Shepherds! From when I placed my deposit till the time I picked up my puppy they kept me update on the puppy progress and were always very easy to get ahold of. I live in Alabama and they were willing to meet me half way which was a huge help for me saving a lot of travel time. My first in person interaction with them was amazing and made me feel like I was getting a very good pup. They answered all my questions and even provided us with a welcome home package contains food, heart-worm prevention sample, and even a GSD handbook. The part that stood out to me the most though was when they offered me the pet crate they had. I had forgotten ours at home trying to get the family ready for the trip and they offered me the crate to make sure the puppy and everyone was comfortable traveling home. They really care about all of their dogs. I couldn’t be more happy with Odin. He is an amazing dog and my first GSD. Honestly I don’t think I’ll get another breed after this except for another GSD and it will be from Vigilant Shepherds. My family has fallen in love with the amazing puppy and Vigilant Shepherds have been with me every step of the way with raising Odin and happily answering any questions I might have. If your looking for an amazing dog and companion look no further than Vigilant Shepherds. They can’t be beat!Would recommend: Yes

Vigilant Shepherds is the best. Rebecca was very helpful as soon as I reached out to her about getting a puppy. She gave us all of the information we needed in order to feel confident bringing Maverick home. They were also very helpful when it came to picking him up. On our first trip down to get him from Minnesota, we had car troubles which ended in us having to turn around before getting to pick him up. We talked with Rebecca and they ended up being able to meet us the next weekend in St. Louis which saved us almost 5 hours. I am so grateful that we found Vigilant Shepherds because they really do care about their puppies and they stay in touch with the families giving great tips and advice even after months of having the puppy home. I can’t imagine life without Maverick and I am so glad that we got him from such amazing people. He is so smart and just an all around great puppy. I would highly recommend Vigilant Shepherds to anyone that is looking at bringing home a sweet German Shepherd puppy.

If you’re looking for a friendly family companion from an excellent breed line this is your breeder!! Rebecca goes above and beyond to make sure each and every pup finds the best forever home! She cares so deeply for these pups and it shines through her as she talks about them 😃 She is quick to respond to questions. And don’t ever think you’re asking too many questions. More questions the better and she will answer. Whether it’s on type of food to favorite toy to supplements. She is very knowledgeable!! You will get pictures and videos from when they are pups. She works on training and can give you even more tips on continuing with training and devices to use. Rebecca and John were so great when we met with them at their home. We brought our other GSD Lilly so her and Nova could meet and they hit it off right away!! We also got to meet their other pups and they are very well mannered beautiful pups!! We were there for hours watching them play and chatting. It was soo great! Rebecca put a binder together with all of Nova’s records. They even gave some dog food, supplements, pumpkin and Nova got to take her favorite toy 😄 Nova has a very high pray drive! But with lots of love and training she has been a great pup that loves to stare at our kitten for hours 😂🤣 Ball is LIFE!! She has high energy and loves to chase a ball. Invest in a ball launcher to save your arm 🤣 And a MudBuster to clean paws. Once Nova winds down she does like to cuddle and even lay on her back with legs in the air! It’s super cute and funny 😆 And her snoring with her tongue out 💤 It’s so great to keep in touch with Rebecca and follow her on Facebook to see all the similarities between Nova and her parents/siblings. Nova has been a huge help with calming Lilly’s anxiety and I think Lilly has been a great sister for Nova too! #bestfriendsforlife Nova will turn 1 on 2/13/23!!Comments: -Would recommend: Yes

 Review: If you are looking for a knowledgeable, honest and reputable breeder, Vigilant Shepherds is just that! Rebecca and John are not only amazing people, but they truly care for their pups in their home and the families their pups go home to. During the entire process, Rebecca kept us up to date with EVERYTHING to do about our puppy. She and John are constantly posting pictures and videos of the pups on their Facebook page, and it really helps you get a feel of who they are as people/breeders, especially coming from out of state. My fiance and I traveled from St. Louis to Memphis to pick up our Kobe (previously Blade) and we did not have an ounce of hesitation in doing so! When we got there, Rebecca and John welcomed us with open arms. Let us meet the Mom and Dad (rare for a lot of breeders these days) and we even got to love on their beautiful girl, Layla. We spent over an hour there, just talking and knowing that these are not just people we are purchasing a puppy from, but lifelong friends who we consider fantastic human beings. Kobe has been the most perfect addition to our family. He has the best temperament and is so incredibly smart! He is fantastic with our kids and already shows that protective side that we love. Any time we've had questions, we reach out to Rebecca or John without hesitation and they respond immediately. We send pictures all the time and keep in touch with them- we love the relationship we have with them. Whenever we get another GSD, we will ABSOLUTELY be coming back to Vigilant Shepherds. 10/10 recommend!Would recommend: Yes

Review: When I say there is no better breeder than Rebecca, I mean it. I got my girl, Koda, in late  May 2023 and she has been the light of my life since. I knew what type of personality I wanted in a dog and Rebecca continuously worked with me to find the perfect match. Any question I had she would answer almost immediately. She was very flexible in finding time for me to come see the pups and never failed to update me if there was anything new. You can tell how much she cares for every single dog and pup in that house. When picking Koda up, Rebecca had a huge bag full of goodies for me which no other breeder had done before. There were leashes, a collar, bags of food, supplements, etc. Everything that you needed to get you on your feet was there. There is no other breeder I will go to except for Vigilant Shepherds now. I cannot express this enough, if you think you can find a better breeder, no you can't!!! From now on I will only recommend Vigilant Shepherds to anyone who wants a German Shepherd. "We purchased our boy Onyx Feb 4th he'll be a year. We are so happy we chose Onyx from Vigilant Shepherds. Onyx replaced our boy Ozzy which we had for 12 years. He's one hundred percent what we were looking for and couldn't be any happier. Rebecca was more than pleasant to do business with and was very helpful with any questions we had. She spends alot of time with the puppies to make sure they are well socialized. When Onyx arrived home he wasn't shy, timid, and was very well behaved.
